\f5gcloud metastore services alter\-table\-properties\fR (\fISERVICE\fR\ :\ \fB\-\-location\fR=\fILOCATION\fR) \fB\-\-properties\fR=[\fIKEY\fR=\fIVALUE\fR,...] \fB\-\-table\-name\fR=\fITABLE_NAME\fR \fB\-\-update\-mask\fR=\fIUPDATE_MASK\fR [\fB\-\-async\fR] [\fIGCLOUD_WIDE_FLAG\ ...\fR]

.SH "DESCRIPTION"

Alter metadata table properties from a Dataproc Metastore service's underlying
metadata store.

If run asynchronously with \f5\-\-async\fR, exits after printing one operation
name that can be used to poll the status of the creation via:

.SH "EXAMPLES"

To alter metadata table properties a and b on table\-name
\f5databases/{database_id}/tables/{table_id}\fR , use the update\-mask
\f5properties.a,properties.b\fR , and run:

.RS 2m
$ gcloud metastore services alter\-table\-properties \e
  my\-metastore\-service \-\-location=us\-central1 \e
  \-\-table\-name=databases/my\-database/tables/my\-table \e
  \-\-update\-mask=properties.a,properties.b \-\-properties=a=1,b=2

.SH "POSITIONAL ARGUMENTS"

.RS 2m
.TP 2m

Service resource \- Arguments and flags that specify the table you want to
alter. The arguments in this group can be used to specify the attributes of this
resource. (NOTE) Some attributes are not given arguments in this group but can
be set in other ways.

To set the \f5project\fR attribute:
.RS 2m
.IP "\(em" 2m
provide the argument \f5service\fR on the command line with a fully specified
name;
.IP "\(em" 2m
provide the argument \f5\-\-project\fR on the command line;
.IP "\(em" 2m
set the property \f5core/project\fR.
.RE
.sp

This must be specified.

.RS 2m
.TP 2m
\fISERVICE\fR

ID of the service or fully qualified identifier for the service.

To set the \f5service\fR attribute:
.RS 2m
.IP "\(bu" 2m
provide the argument \f5service\fR on the command line.
.RE
.sp

This positional argument must be specified if any of the other arguments in this
group are specified.

.TP 2m
\fB\-\-location\fR=\fILOCATION\fR

The location of the Dataproc Metastore service.

If not specified, will use \f5default\fR metastore/location.

To set the \f5location\fR attribute:
.RS 2m
.IP "\(bu" 2m
provide the argument \f5service\fR on the command line with a fully specified
name;
.IP "\(bu" 2m
provide the argument \f5\-\-location\fR on the command line;
.IP "\(bu" 2m
set the property \f5metastore/location\fR.

.SH "REQUIRED FLAGS"

.RS 2m
.TP 2m
\fB\-\-properties\fR=[\fIKEY\fR=\fIVALUE\fR,...]

A string where field names are separated by a comma. Describes the desired
values to mutate. If update\-mask is empty, the properties will not update.
Otherwise, the properties only alter the values whose associated paths exist in
the update mask.

For example, the desired key\-value pairs.

a=2,b=3,c=4

.TP 2m
\fB\-\-table\-name\fR=\fITABLE_NAME\fR

The name of the table containing the properties you're altering in the following
format.

\f5databases/{database_id}/tables/{table_id}\fR

.TP 2m
\fB\-\-update\-mask\fR=\fIUPDATE_MASK\fR

A string where field names are separated by a comma. Specifies the metadata
table properties fields that are overwritten by the update. Fields specified in
the \f5update\-mask\fR are relative to the resource (not to the full request). A
field is overwritten if it is in the mask.

For example, given the target properties:

.RS 2m
properties {
  a: 1
  b: 2
}
.RE

And an update properties:

.RS 2m
properties {
  a: 2
  b: 3
  c: 4
}
.RE

then if the field mask is:

\f5properties.b,properties.c\fR

then the updated result will be:

.RS 2m
properties {
  a: 1
  b: 3
  c: 4
}
